Two Factor Authentication

Welcome to the Whittlesey Minute. My name is Chris Wisneski, Manager of IT Security & Assurance Services, here at Whittlesey. Today we're going to discuss two factor authentication. Two factor authentication is a method of confirming a user's identity when requesting access to a resource. The user must present at least two different factors or pieces of evidence of who they are. This is usually broken down into three separate categories. One, what the user knows, such as a user id or password. Two what the user has, such as a pin or a token code. Or three, who the user is, such as using biometrics. I strongly encourage all clients to reach out to their Whittlesey Technology Advisor to implement two-factor authentication today.
